If you need a little hope in your darkness read a few of the Reddit threads in UK football (soccer) subreddits discussing banning X links.

They ain't pulling any punches. Football fans go hard.

The best time to ban X was in August when the owner helped provoke violence on Britain's streets the next best time is after the owner gave a Sieg Heil live on television.

TikTok without Americans is going to be a wonderful experiment, my first video today was instructions on how to fold and fitted sheet, then Francis Bourgeois recounted his experience staying in a Railway signal box and finally some dancing chickens.

Gone is the incessant whiney impotence of American activism and their inability to vote for outsiders, a breath of fresh air.

“Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead,”

This is the type of shot you take during an election campaign not after.

The shade that TikTok refugees are giving to the US government by joining a Chinese social network, whose Chinese name translates to "Little Red Book" is exemplary I have no notes.

I didn't have agreeing with Seb Gorka on my 2025 bingo card but the UK should absolutely clean up the mess its citizens have made and not leave them lying around the Middle East for others to deal with.

'Britain, Britain, Britain' used to be the introduction to a light hearted but yet racist, homophobic and ableist comedy show, today a burnt out car seems more appropriate.

The Jess Phillips interview on Channel 4 news tonight is unmissable. A government minister being open, honest and candid about her work and its impact on her life, like a breath of fresh air across our news and politics. Over the last few weeks and months the political discourse in Britain has been hijacked by the thickest man on earth Phillips is the antidote, she knows her stuff and clearly cares.

The trouble with Meta and its various platforms is that it's not the public square, it's more like a social club or living room so we curate our experience, as individuals we're not going to notice the further degradation of the platform until it's too late.

In some ways, we should thank Zuckerberg for the notification of further enshittification. Perhaps this could become a formal process for service providers to follow.

The right has been so cowed by the continuous failure of the British state that they cannot comprehend that mainstream media called out the grooming gangs and that national inquiries have already addressed the issues.

The previous UK government failed to act on the recommendations, which should be addressed, but these continued calls for an inquiry started as a dog whistle to Powellism and should be called out as such.

Today I learned that the new fangled and possibly bogus Christmas tradition of "Elf on the Shelf" is a corporate scam, which like most corporate scams is heavily litigated with a large number of lawsuits and threats made to critics and parodies.

Corporations really do have to ruin everything, if parents want to pretend Santa is running a surveillance state and then make a t-shirt about it for some reason that's their business.

Nothing sums up the state of #UKPolitics better than the ongoing saga of the refurbishment of the Parliament building itself, and it seems that this Parliament is no less able to get things done than the last.

Meanwhile the historic tinderbox just sits there.

The Day After Tomorrow - The President dies in a Superstorm

Designated Survivor - The President dies in a Terrorist attack on Congress

The Diplomat - The President dies on a conference call.

Bravo to the writers of The Diplomat for coming up with an unhinged plot twist that could have only been written in the 2020s.

Hardly the best look for the minister who announced that WASPI women would get no compensation to have previously endorsed their campaign.

MPs really need to do better than this, only back campaigns if you can follow through.

Reading through a few job adverts, and this one popped out:

"Are you passionate about Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian Cloud Suite?"

I guess we all do some pretending at work but putting that mask on every day seems a bit much.
