WHAT 😍 I didn’t even realize Chris had this blog. And today, a beautiful design. Nice work!

Mastodon pals, Chris here is a close friend of mine. He’s one of the most thoughtful, caring, and talented people I have ever met, and I personally guarantee you will find joy by paying attention to him no matter what he does next.

I enjoy the sensation of observing design decisions for a second or third time, seeing how my reaction changes or doesn’t. Those thoughts in between the initial experience and the settled opinion, you know?

Bummed out. Apple’s Voice Memos app on my phone just doesn’t record anymore. Hoped for a bug fix with iOS 18.2, no dice.

We’re actually going to continue playing tonight before bedtime. And I had another idea — so, asked ChatGPT to “Please recommend an ambient soundtrack I can play via Apple Music while we continue the adventure today.” 😄

I don’t care about podcast stats right now, it’s more of a personal experiment to see if I enjoy doing the work. But seeing this was pretty fun.

Hard to trust any Black Friday deals on Amazon. I’ve had a few things saved for later in my cart, seen them increase in cost little by little in prior weeks. Now they’re a “deal” at the original price.

Fancy, rainbow Siri on my iPad feels wrong somehow. Clearly Apple has indicated that this is now a different thing, and it looks cool. But it feels like it’s getting in my way and activating by accident. There also hasn’t been an introduction to its new abilities (or I missed it). If it’s as big a deal as I think it is, needs re-onboarding.

You refuse to turn

Off Fox News, what else is there

To say but goodbye

Absurdity, hate

Noise and popcorn, excuses

Always excuses

Suffering others

Hidden by propaganda

How is your wallet

Our children's futures

Spoiled, squandered by a clown

And millions of fools

Sunday. Made bacon & eggs. Ate breakfast as a family, talked about the day. Read the news. Planned the week’s meals, workouts, vitamins.

Copy/pasted yesterday’s about text to the site and styled it using that new font. Deepened the color scheme using a complementary set from Adobe Color.

Leftovers for dinner. Helped with laundry. Fed the dogs, washed the dishes. The usual evening routine.

Saw a rabbit behind the garden, checking out our rotten jack-o’-lanterns in the dark. All yours, buddy. 🐰

“He is hiring – above all else – for loyalty. He has told advisers that his biggest regret from his first term was personnel, and that he was betrayed by “traitors” [who] resisted his efforts to mobilize the U.S. government to overturn the 202 election result. This time, there will be no one in the room who sees it as their job to restrain Mr. Trump.”
