Probably best to not directly target new Fedi users with this or that advice re: CW's or alt-text, etc. Let their instance/instance admins bring them on board.

If they follow you, you can post general reminders (not directly to them) in the vein of "please be kind, rewind", but not so much "use alt-text you fucking assholes." Some people find that off-putting.
