The owner of Meta wants more "masculine energy"? Well, I'm doing my best to bring my feminine energy to the Fediverse.
Hello! I'm Elena Rossini, an Italian filmmaker, photographer and FOSS advocate based in Paris, France.
Pictured here: at the Louvre museum after a portrait shoot (for a book jacket's author's pic: Monica Parker, The Power of Wonder). I'm proudly wearing around my neck my 3 cameras: a #Canon 5D Mark IV, a #Fujifilm X-T3 and a #Nikon Z fc (which has my favorite lens, a Sigma 30mm f/1.4).
I'm delighted to see Pixelfed growing into such a nice photo community.

🗄️ from my archives: lovers on Pont Neuf in Paris 🕰️
This is quite possibly one of my favorite #streetphotography photos, shot at magic hour on Pont Neuf a lifetime ago.
Since Covid + becoming a mom I haven't been able to resume street photography at magic hour, but looking forward to picking it up again in the future.
📷: #Nikon D90
Lens: probably a 50mm f/1.8 AIS (camera didn't register that info and it was taken a loooong time ago)

🗄️ from my archives: Villa Monastero in Varenna, Italy 🕰️
This is one of my favorite places in the whole world: #VillaMonastero in Varenna. It's on #LakeComo, on the Lecco side – a short boat ride from Bellagio.
The gardens and structures are impossibly beautiful - and yet this town is mostly overlooked in favor of Bellagio. I love this place so much that the day after my wedding I organized a trip here with friends and family. We would have gotten married here, too, if it wasn't for all the restrictions / limited space. All this to say: if you plan to visit Lake Como, make sure to stop in Varenna (boat stop after Bellagio) and in Lenno (boat stop before Bellagio). They are hidden gems!
Photo taken with an #iPhone6 and color-graded in #VSCO.
(Apologies if you've seen this photo before, but I'm recreating my pixelfed.social archive here on my self-hosted instance).

🗄️ from my archives: my very first camera 🕰️
a photo showing the very first camera I ever owned: a #Canon Prima fixed lens film camera. Nowadays I mostly use a Canon 5D Mark IV for photo work... and sometimes a mirrorless Nikon and Fujifilm X-T3. Shot in my garden in Italy a looong time ago with a Nikon D80 and a 50mm f/1.8 AIS

🗄️ from my archives: at the top of Burj Khalifa 🕰️
A photo of me from December 2014 from the top of the Burj Khalifa observation deck in Dubai, UAE.
It's one of my favorite pics and it was shot by a friend using my iPhone 6 (incredible quality all things considered!)

Hello Pixelfed community!
This is the first post from my self-hosted instance. A blast from the past: a photo from January 2015 (10 years ago!) showing me in my old apartment, holding a #Lomo Lubitel 166. My right arm has the temporary tattoo (from Tattly) with the message "Stop and smell the roses" – which is solid advice, each and every day.
Special thanks to @dansup@pixelfed.social for creating this amazing platform!
