Good morning and happy Friday to all of you here within the #Fediverse

What's on your agenda for the day and for the weekend ahead?

For me, it's just work stuff. My one and only meeting for the day got cancelled, so it'll just be doing phone calls all day. Hoping the day is super slow and therefore super easy.

Not sure what the weekend has in store yet, but we'll take that one day at a time I suppose.

I had another one on one today with my other supervisor this morning and like yesterday, it went very well.

She told me pretty much all the same stuff my other supervisor told me yesterday.

They both feel I'm ahead of schedule of where I should be at the almost 3 month stage and that I'm doing exceptionally well.

They both also stated that I just need to keep doing exactly what I've been doing and I'll be good to go.

My supervisor today told me that I'm making very few mistakes on tickets and 99% of things that I'm making mistakes on are things I don't actually know as of yet and her words were, "Therefore they aren't actual mistakes since you don't know how to handle them yet."

I guess over all I'm doing really well and hopefully once we get someone new hired and trained, I'll definitely be able to move to an earlier shift and not be stuck on the late shift.

Good morning #Fediverse friends!

Let's all take a moment to talk about our day today. What we have planned. What we have already done. Or just anything you'd like to discuss.

For me, the work day started about 20 minutes ago and I started my day with a one on one with my other supervisor. Now, it's just usual work stuff with a training meeting from 1pm - 2pm. After that, it'll just be a regular work day until the shift ends.

The one on one meeting that I had with my supervisor today went really well.

She told me that I'm actually ahead of where I should be at the nearly 3 month mark and that I'm doing exceptionally well.

She also told me that they are hiring for at least one more person in my immediate department and that once they get someone hired and trained, that I will be moving up to an earlier shift since I'm doing so well.

I'm hoping they can get someone hired in the next few weeks and then trained over 2 - 3 months, very similar to what I went through.

I don't mind working the 11am - 8pm EST shift, I'd certainly love to work earlier so I can be done earlier. The later shift however is much slower, which isn't a bad thing at all.

As a former co-admin of an instance, I know how important it is to get support from the community and the members. Server costs are not cheap for running Mastodon instances, or any Fediverse projects for that matter.

I've been a firm believer that if we can help our admins and even our moderators of our instances that we should do so. Even if it's just a few bucks as a one-time donation or a monthly donation if you can afford it.

With that said, I have elected to setup a monthly donation via Ko-Fi to infosec.exchange to help @jerry cover the costs of running all of the infosec.exchange stuff that he's running and maintaining for all of us.

Again, I encourage everyone to do the same if you can for your instance to help alleviate those charges each month that they have to deal with.

So far it's been a decent start to the work day. I had two training modules I needed to do that were both about 45 minutes long. Just watching some videos and then taking a test at the end. One was security stuff and the other way HIPAA stuff.

I got both of them done, because I put the videos on 2.5x speed in the background and waited on them to finish and then went and took the test. Scored 95% on one and 100% on the other, so training stuff is complete, at least for now!

Good morning and happy Wednesday #Fediverse folks!

How has your day been so far and what have you accomplished or what do you hope to accomplish?

For me, I just started work about an hour ago and so far it's been pretty slow. Managed to get my 2025 training stuff completed which is nice.

I have two meetings today. One at 2pm which is an entire team meeting, then one at 3pm which is a one on one with my immediate supervisor. More of a check in to see how I'm doing type meeting, so that should be a decent meeting.

Not much else is planned since I work until 8pm EST, so I'll just answer calls as they come in. Just hoping there aren't too many crazy calls.

Good morning #Fediverse friends!

How are we all doing today? Hopefully everyone is doing extremely well today.

What are your plans for the day, or what have you already accomplished?

For me, it's back to work after having 3 days off because of MLK JR day yesterday. I'm hoping it's a slow day, with minimal phone calls all day. I only have one meeting today, so that's not too bad.

Not much else is planned outside of the work stuff as I do have a couple of training courses I need to finish before the end of the month so I might try and get those done during down time.
