I asked a couple of weeks ago if the wikimedia foundation or any of their international subsidiaries/partners had made any concrete plans for when they would start to get persectuted and their massive amount of donations seized in the US.

Has there been any update on that, or are they just going to fold when the US state starts going after them in the slightest way?

Most people in fascist groups are inveterate cowards whose thirst for violence they most easily and commonly feed by attacking targets that are isolated, ignored, and already under threat from the state and mainstream society, and moreover are unlikely to get any concrete assistance if actually attacked.

If they are given any sort of material pushback, surprisingly many of them will just outright fold over.

Trying to "reason" with them, however, is bound to fail.

It is every so often such a strange experience to listen to media which is produced by capital for itself. The current history of the Eurodollar market by the Odd Lots podcast is such an occasion, where they just outright state that 'yeah, Bretton-Woods was large parts of the world giving up their sovereignty to the US because they were forced to', or how much of the power of the dollar is based on Vibes(tm) ("confidence").

New release! My band #RYAUmeå has a new single out now on both Bandcamp and Spotify and other platforms. It's called 'Cursing Creek', and is a kind of a different tune from the last one, with no lyrics and a bit different instrumental setup. Still folksy and jazzy and proggy and with many different sections and almost nine minutes long though. We do have shorter tunes! Just not out.. yet!

TIL about the Inupiat base-20 (..ish, it's got a base-5 subdivision) mathematics, and how a new numbering system that fit it was developed in Kaktovik, significantly raising test scores.

Also, because of the structure of the numbering system, long division is super straightforward, comparatively speaking.

Gotta love when you get a paper rejected, and then a couple of months later as you start the process of reworking it to resubmit somewhere else, you check out if there's any more recent work that should be included.

And then you realise that four days before today's meeting, you got scooped by one of the preeminent people in the field along with their team.

At least we had a better title.

(and yes, some other ideas for how to confirm/contrast/change it up)
