Started the week with the news that our #OpenStack #Swift cluster has corrupted another container database (x3, all three replicas). AFAICT from our Phab logs we've never observed this before, and now it's happened twice this month :-(

I'm concerned that the government has wholesale bought into AI hype, without a clear idea of the risks and realistic possibilities of the technology (nor e.g. on being clear whether they mean using ML models for image analysis, or generative AI to spew plausible-sounding BS by the gigabit).
To pick an example, locally the problem is not lack of detection of potholes, but that there isn't the money (or people-power) to actually fix the potholes that get reported.

unfortunately, that server being kaput means I've lost all my followers (at least until toot.bike comes back enough for me to export them) :(

My previous server https://toot.bike seems unhappy (only errors for >24h), so I think I am moving here...
