And it begins... cold air and scattered flurries on the radar on the North Island.

First band of light precipitation now coming onto the South Island. Rain already happening over Campbell River and Courtenay. Likely some snow falling in some lower elevation areas and certainly in the mountains.

Snow is possible again today with temperatures near zero. Rain/Snow will begin on the South Island and move up into Port Alberni and Courtenay later this morning and afternoon.

Expect slush and snow on the highway passes and changing conditions throughout the day and into tonight.

Be careful on the roads! #bcHwy4 Alberni Hump is snow covered as is Taylor Flats near Sutton Pass. It is sticking in town #PortAlberni as well now.

This wasn't in the forecast but happy to see a little white stuff! I think we can say this is the first official snowfall of the Winte 2024/25!
