I think an interesting data problem would be to develop a systematic way of determining what portfolios contain specific medical debt, identifying the debtor, and finding a way to sell it to them at the package price rather than the debt price. Thousands of debts are bundled together by loan groups and sold off to debt collectors for pennies on the dollar. It would be an extremely based thing if we could figure out a way to let people buy it back themselves.

Obviously, yes, it would be way cooler to just destroy servers containing the debt, but that's a harder problem for another day, but still not NP.

I wonder if Mastodon is ready for the influx of bored youth when Tiktok gets banned. This is probably a good time to note that a newer project, https://loops.video/ is aiming to federate short-form video a la tiktok, without algorithmic intrusion. Keep that in your potion belt for recommendations when the time comes.
