Been using this illustration as a background image on my phone for a few months, and got a random comment from a fellow Lum fan last night.
I take it as a compliment she's still recognized as Lum, even when I depicted her as a goth.

Ended up watching the last three episodes of Oshi no Ko season 2 last night after all...
... and I really wish I didn't.
Don't get me wrong, I liked them, they were amazing episodes. Just that the point I stopped was at the end of an arc, such a nice place to stop while waiting for more of the manga to be translated.
These episodes start a new arc, throws a few curveballs and end up on a huge post credit cliffhanger WTF moment.

This girl is Bambie, my OC from my manga about the Dumb Seabirds.
Bambie hates the birds and wants to kill them any chance she gets.
Maybe I'll translate the first chapter to English soon?
Here I wanted to draw her dressed as Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, and the rest of the scene kinda wrote itself...

The older I become, the less I care about what other people think. I went through a period of time of about 10 years after 2010 or so, where I was super afraid to do anything "cringe", but looking back, I was also miserable, and what I made suffered from it.
After I turned 40, a switch just turned off.
I only live once and I'm gonna have some fun with it!
2024 was a really fun year for me with art. I got to just draw things I wanted to draw. Not every illustration turned out good, but some I consider the best illustrations I've ever done.
But even daring to experiment a bit is an amazing lesson. I want to become better at what I do, so I need to dare to stumble.
I want to continue doing that into 2025!

Didn't plan to draw this, but I wanted to draw something I could quickly upload whenever I wanted to celebrate something.
It quickly evolved into a bunny girl with champagne and balloons, and it just made sense to make a new years version of it.
I tried a different rendering method than I usually do for this.

Goal was to challenge myself to make at least one illustration each month, to improve rendering and anatomy. I'm very proud of all of these, but I also feel bad for leaving so many illustrations out.

I've beaten Chrono Trigger every December since 1998, and it's kinda insane to think about that game having ben a constant in my life through ups and downs for soon 30 years.
The ending theme almost means as much to christmas to me as decorating a tree or wrapping gifts.
Weird tradition? Maybe, but I don't care.

Lum from Urusei Yatsura being one of my favorite anime characters, I was challenged by a friend to draw her as a goth girl.
It was a perfect one to do for gothtober, and because I ended up not having the heart to throw away any of my sketches, I ended up finishing all of them.

Just started watching the new Ranma 1/2 series. Enjoying it for what it is, I really like the designs and colors, but not comparing it to the 89 series is impossible for me because it was one of my first anime back in the day, and I watched it over and over.
Like the new Urusei Yatsura, I felt it really rushed at the start, but it grew on me once it settled down and even animated some stories the original didn't, and I eventually ended up loving it.
I hope it's the same with Ranma 1/2.
Also can't wait to see Happosai.
I'll keep watching it, it's on Netflix so I got easy access at the moment.

こんにちは Sakurajima!
I'm a Norwegian artist who just migrated, after looking for an instance that would more match my interests for a while.
Manga has always been a huge influence on my art. I'm currently working on a comic book, but I also like to do all sorts of illustrations for fun, mostly fanarts, but also some OCs.
I also watch anime and play way too many videogames.
Currently learning Japanese, but while I can read well enough, and I hope to be able to interact more in Japanese than I could on my previous home.
I'll mostly be posting in English.
This is my first time migrating, so not sure what the common thing is, if I should try to import all my posts or not?
That said, I don't really mind a fresh start, and it seems like most my followers stayed with me on the move.
I'll figure out some stuff, then try to post some art, focusing on my more recent stuff, as I've done more anime influenced art the last few years. If you're impatient, I got links in bio.
To all of you already following me: thanks for your patience. I haven't been very active for a while, but I hope this move can inspire me to be more active again. I hope for a little more patience while I figure out my new home.
