So the other day @L1vY posted some lyrics from Godspell.
Of course that gave me the earworm that didn't quit. It was something that we regularly worked on in the school chorus - in all the part harmonies. several parts are reflexive in my brain at this point. It's not simple music.
I dug out the soundtrack, and played it the other night, and sang along loudly.
This might sound quite "normal" - but I am recovering from a severe bout of a certain respiratory infection that is known for it's horrid cough. The cough is so bad - I bruised my ribs badly. Inhaling to cough causes the pain spasm that makes you suck in even more air (in pain).
And much to my surprise - the exercise of singing (properly from the diaphragm) really loosened up my sore tightened ribs. I slept so much better that night after the exercise. An amazingly - the proper singing technique didn't invoke coughing like casual conversation has for the last 2 weeks.
Last night, no singing, and my ribs told me not to do that again.
I used to enforce a "No Showtunes after 10PM rule" because I can't get to sleep after a lot of that.
But damn this good exercise.
(OK - maybe I'm also tap dancing while singing too).
"Some men are born to live at ease, doing what they please,
Richer than the bees are in honey
Never growing old, never feeling cold
Pulling pots of gold from thin air
The best in every town, best at shaking down
Best at making mountains of money
They can't take it with them, but what do they care?
They get the center of the meat, cushions on the seat
Houses on the street where it's sunny..
Summers at the sea, winters warm and free
All of this and we get the rest...
But who is the land for? the sun and the sand for?
You guessed! It's all for the best..."
Keep up with me now....

Watched a small sedan with a LIDAR unit on top of the car blast thru a red light at a high rate of speed. Had to look up the name that was printed on the side of the vehicle.
I read "motive"
