My career can be best described as in the field of 'flood hazard mitigation'. But like, how does that have anything to do with the Los Angeles fires? People on my team (I wasn't involved) developed a way to model post-fire flooding conditions. Any time there is rain after a fire like what they're having, there's an extreme risk of mudflows. The 2018 Montecito mudflows were used to validate their models and now FEMA uses them. Mewonders, will we be contracted to re-model Malibu and nearby areas?
