Then there’s the price tag. $500 for what? The highly touted ANC upgrade over the EX appears to be the result of three upgraded MEMS mics—the only hardware change we could find—and extensive software updates. Compare that to the 0/10 AirPods 4 ANC at less than half the price.
See our YouTube channel and blog post for more analysis on the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Eleven.
A huge thanks to our friends at Lumafield for enabling these amazing CT scans.

At $500—$100 more than the EX it copies—the Beoplay Eleven doesn’t have user serviceable batteries, earning it a repairability score of 1/10. We challenge Bang & Olufsen to show how these buds are serviceable where the EX is not.

Our latest teardown looks at yet another set of disposable earbuds. The difference this time: the manufacturer claims the batteries are serviceable even though they’re a carbon copy of their own last gen buds with non-serviceable batteries.

Good news - the FTC is suing John Deere over its repair monopoly!
“We shouldn’t tolerate companies blocking repair. When you buy something, you should be able to do whatever you want with it. The FTC’s enforcement action will help farmers, and everyone else who believes people should be able to fix their stuff.”

"If you couldn’t replace the tires in your car, you wouldn’t buy a car.
But overwhelmingly, lithium batteries have become glued in, and that’s just not viable.
Right now, the lifespan of a thing is the life of the shortest-lived component: the battery."

“Reaching for the Logic Board” (2018)
With a hand descending from the heavens, this photo shows a logic board being removed from an iMac Pro. You need to remove the logic board to replace the RAM and access most components—one of the many reasons we gave this device a 3/10 repairability score.
Regardless of how we feel about its repairability, the iMac Pro looks impressive, both inside and out. Even if you can’t fix it, at least it’ll look nice on your shelf!
