Really not feeling this meeting where people are discussing the minutia of what wording to use on this slide so that the "project board" understands what the project workers are recommending.

I truly do not care if we use "recommended" or "strongly recommended" here.

The kind of morning where I've got one of those grain filled microwaveable heat bags in my lap to help keep me warm, and I'm resting my cup of tea on it to help keep IT warm too as I drink it.

It's cold out there! -32C/-26F with a wind chill of -46C/-51F.

Its best to get bad news on days like today when there is a blizzard. At least the wind is howling too

listening to the wind howl, throwing snow against the window. And also somehow... the neighbor trying to shovel their walk. Winds are 80km/h out there buddy, not sure that's going to help much!

This isn't fair, there's a blizzard today I shouldn't have to work I should just be lounging on a couch having my tits played with.

I know I complain about weather changes a lot - but everyone in this house is very affected by them and everything hurts.

2 days ago it was -30c, yesterday was +2c. It's going to get warmer all night tonight until we get slammed with an alberta clipper tomorrow which will drop the temperatures all day back down to around -20 and colder beyond with 60-90km/h winds.

The pressure has been going up and down like a rollercoaster every day. I miss stable weather... fucking climate change.

I was just about to post about how my anxiety was off the charts today for some reason and now suddenly a major system went down at work, for which I am the only one here today to work on, 20 minutes before I've got an appointment with my bank.

This.. is not helping.

You couldn't pay me any amount of anything to go back in time to being a child again - but god damn does being an adult suck sometimes.

I don't WANT to call the bank for an appointment.

I don't WANT to call the mechanic to get this fluid leak looked at on my car.

I don't WANT to call the pharmacy to ask about ordering compounded medications.

I don't WANT to have to work every day.

All I want to do is sit somewhere with my partner's head in my lap and wait for winter to end.

reached the point in my career where I try to deflect credit for finding/solving problems as much as possible.

Management: "Good work for finding this weird issue Vy!"

Me: "Oh credit goes to $other_person for the idea on what to look at"

When someone waving a gun around jokes about shooting you - that's a fucking threat.

I'm getting real tired of seeing jokes from Americans about invading Canada (not specifically on fedi - just in general). I'm even seeing them occasionally from my progressive friends.

This shit isn't funny y'all - the US can invade what ever country it wants to with zero consequences! And HAS, multiple times in my lifetime alone! Fascists love to float a "joke" and see what the reaction is before committing to it - this is textbook shit! Like, I get making jokes to deal with The Horrors, but lets not pretend the US invading a country for resources is some wild thing that would never happen!

Canadians joking about how the US isn't prepared to deal with Quebec is coping with the very real threat that we are Poland before WW2. It doesn't give Americans justification to joke about actually invading us.

And, also, we wouldn't be the 51st fucking state - we'd just be another territory that doesn't have representation or the right to vote.

Weird that I don't see a lot of Americans making jokes regarding Trump's comments/jokes about getting a 3rd term as president. That one hit too close to home eh?

Like clockwork lol - every damn time... I'd ask how long before I remember this is going to happen every month but I get the feeling that's not going to happen!

apologised to my partner as well because they started cramping today too despite having their periods suppressed. It's wild that my hormones triggers theirs - bodies are strange. I wonder what the mechanism is...

Oh great - work is getting a 2 month trial of Gitlab's AI crap for everyone.

Manager is like "I know lots of us struggle with writing tests for code - so hopefully this will help"... the fuck it will. It's just going to make everything so much worse because no one will understand the code they are writing and the few of us who DO (to what ever extent that is) will be cleaning up after it.

Getting real tired of my windows 11* lock screen extolling the virtues of Microsoft AI every day.

"See how the Special Olympics is using Copilot to help!" (I bet it's not helping)

"See how pharmacists are using AI to see more patients!" (terrifying)

How about you go fuck yourself Microsoft??

Performed an emergency power supply transplant on my partner's computer, thus continuing my role as computer toucher for the household.

It is a lot nicer swapping power supplies when they are modular, holy crap. The old one was only partially modular so I had to re-run cables for the CPU/mainboard, but other than that everything else was just unplug from the old PSU, plug in to the new.

Had a (rare for me) sexy dream last night - and for the first time my body in the dream matched what it looks like now! Long hair, small tits, how I smell, etc - and the other person (One of dropout.tv's non-binary cast, lol) was IN TO IT.

Thank you for that one brain, I appreciate it!

Would I rather not need to be on medication? Absolutely! But that's not the world and body I live in.

I feel like a lot of (generally able-bodied) people associate "taking medication" with "having something wrong with you" but the "having something wrong with you" is there regardless of how (or if) it's being treated. A diagnosis isn't giving someone an illness - it's identifying something that's there already so it can be treated.
