Big rule of thumb.

If the people you follow make a lot of negative posts to the point you keep having to update your filters, it's time to unfollow them.

Take it from someone who has wasted four years doom-scrolling online.

Quick demo of Lernout & Hauspie's RealSpeak TTS engine. This is Jennifer, supposedly the one and only voice for it.

I found a couple more versions of TruVoice. An older version that doesn't have a function to change voice characteristics, and a newer version that does. It also doesn't need a password argument to be passed unlike the version released for the TruVoice speak window.

The newest version was released alongside Lernout and Hauspie's Now You're Talking software, a speech recognition software.

If you guys notice any posts missing, I decided to turn on automatic post deletion for privacy reasons.

No hard feelings at all. The posts that get the most engagement will stay on.

@datajake1999 What on earth is this synth? I quite like it. It's got that lispy infovox quality to it.

Don't you guys just love having sensory issues?

I have my fan on to mask the noise coming from neighbors. However, after a while I start to hallucinate sound with the fan on.

Kind of annoying.

Quick demo of Eloquence 1.02. The library is referred to as Eloquence Command Interface Beta released in 1996.

This version is so unstable. I had to run the program separate times just to make this demo.

So iexpress.exe is a simple installer maker already installed with Windows.

In my 30 years of existence, that blew my mind.

Eloquence 2 is much easier to interface with than Eloquence 1.

Here's a quick test.

I'm so glad filters exist for Mastadon.

Way too much political stuff on here. I'm sick and tired of it.

ETI Eloquence 1.02 from 1996 has now been found.

It includes both the 16-bit and 32-bit version of the synth.

Since I've helped quite a bit in the community, I figured I give something back.

I managed to track down the couple versions of the DECTalk mail listing archive. This should have all or most of the files from around 2005 as well as later files.

The mailing listing messages are also included in MBOX format within the archive.
