So yeah, I just gave up.

I guess I was just looking forward to having an evening all by myself, making music, and it didn't turn out as expected...

Nope, today was not a creative day.

Don't know how other people do this but I usually feel the urge to make music on some days and then know I can accomplish something. The rest of days its just making weird stuff.

As today. I've played around a bit with the JC-303 https://midilab.co/jc303/ @amadeus mentioned, but felt absolutely uninspired. Then I thought about continuing an old project but the CPU died on the Vocal parts which are my favourite, and I had no energy to battle this.

As always, I'm happy for anyone contributing their thoughts, so feel free to do so here or just in a private message.

Additionally, I'd also appreciate any tips, tricks and ideas, especially concerning #Linuxdistribution and setting up #audio, as mentioned in the post.

I'll do the switch/Dual Boot regardless of the outcome of feedback, probably this weekend. Hope it all goes well, kinda worried

Week 47:

This week (and at least the next one), I will dive into the tech side of music production. It will play a role in the theoretical chapter of my #ethnography and functions as a foundation to practices, which will follow after.

As part of this, I thought it would be interesting to observe my journey finally switching to #linux for #musicproduction. I posted on Lemmy about it but I think the #LinuxAudio and Music production communities aren't really active, unfortunately.

Decided that updates on #research progress will only be visible to Followers from now on

For anyone interested in doing similar work, I highly recommend reading Liz Przybylski's book #HybridEthnography. Online, Offline, and In Between (2021). It helped me a lot figuring out what I want to achieve and how. It was also extremely helpful during the planning phase and will be a great guide along the way, as there are lots of tips and references spread across the publication.
