Has anyone else come across this issues with #espanso on #wayland?

unable to start service: timed out
Hint: sometimes this happens because another Espanso process is left running for some reason.
Please try running 'espanso restart' or manually killing all Espanso processes, then try again.

I had it working on X11 (and possibly Wayland) on a Arch install but I can't get it to work on #Nobara with Wayland.

I contacted support for the company that creates the software - Hubstaff - and this was their response:

I'm sorry, but it is the expected behavior, our app is designed to function properly only with Xorg. Regretfully, using Wayland is not recommended and it will lead to app issues: https://support.hubstaff.com/screenshot-capture-support-wayland-linux/.

If you had to choose a #linux distro/de combo for X11, what would it be? I use my personal PC for work and our time tracking software doesn't work on Wayland*. Currently, I am using #endeavouros with #kde but I feel like a change.

Any recommendations for a budget managed network setup? I don’t have any real need for it, it’s more to learn and play.

I’ve got gigabit through my ISP and that is currently connected to a wall jack which gives me Ethernet access in my small office. My office has an unmanaged tp-link switch to run the networking back into the wall to give me PC Ethernet via the other wall jack.

I plan on getting a NAS setup at some point as well. I’ll probably only use it for backups and Plex/Jellyfin.

Finally got my spare router setup with #OpenWRT. Now to practice some of my networking skills before switching to it as my primary router.

I have almost no use for the graph in #logseq but I do find it pretty to look at.

So far so good. Maybe I just needed a BIOS update??

No errors on the memory test. Using the bios now to see if that helps.

As much as I’ve wanted to upgrade my system, I don’t have the funds to do that now unfortunately.

My PC has started randomly freezing again, I had really hoped it was only a software issue but I’m not so sure now. Running #memtest86 to rule out any memory issues.

[#]Instagram is now making you wait and watch ads in your home feed before you can continue scrolling. You can get rid of the ads for €8 a month!

Please boost to spread this, it’s ridiculous! Not entirely unsurprising though.

Why do so many people in tech companies (probably most companies if I think about it) use Google Sheets for everything other than a spreadsheet?? A spreadsheet should not be used for paragraphs of text!

The name isn't great, but I couldn't think of anything better at 1am. Something like "YankIt" might be better. I'm open to suggestions.

Just published my first browser extension (for #Firefox). It’s super but it’ll let you copy the current page’s URL by pressing “yy” - the same way you would in #vim.

I made it because I got tired of having to do “F6”, “Ctrl + C”, “F6”.

Anyone else having driver issues with their #nvidia card on #linux? My PC has started freezing completely today and if I understood the logs correctly I think it’s the GPU.

Initially I thought it was an issue with an application for work but after SSHing into the system and updating/restarting, the same thing happened before I even logged in.

I used the EndeavourOS send-log feature: http://0x0.st/XU2-.txt

I love #linux. I was gifted a second-hand 2017 Dell Latitude 3580 and with most of the essential programs installed (on #Arch btw), it idles at under 1GB. I forgot to check on #Windows before installing Linux, but I'm sure that it would be a lot higher.

RAM usage goes up to 1.5GB (give or take a little) with a browser open and some light browsing.

I’ve been gifted a second Dell laptop that I’ll be putting #linux on. However, I’m not sure what I want to use on it. I use #EndeavourOS on my main PC and @UniversalBlue’s Aurora on a shared laptop with my wife.

I was thinking of trying out @ultramarine or vanilla Arch (or maybe @pop_os_official with Cosmic?) I don’t mind messing around with fixing things since it’ll most likely only be me using the laptop. It’ll be used for office tasks and some browsing.

I never thought I’d say this but, I’m really enjoying #vim (more specifically #neovim). Editing config files is about 90% of my use case and I’ve become a lot more efficient!

I installed NvChad for now but at some point will create my own config. There’s a lot of stuff in there that I just don’t need.
