Now, he and his unit need a second one of those - the first one is still going strong. My girlfriend and I are organising a fundraiser for that, will procure the laptop and get it conveyed directly to Serhiy in Ukraine.

This is me and my friend Serhiy. He’s an aerial cameraman, most of you have seen his work.

He lives, together with his wife and three kids, in Kyiv. Since the invasion, he’s used his unique experience and talents to help develop new drones, train operators, and be an operator himself. Currently, his unit is in the Pokrovsk area.

Two years ago we bought him a rugged laptop, ready for frontline usage. I get a deep discount for those, but they are still very expensive, about 2000€.

Vor zwei Jahren haben wir ihm bereits ein fronttaugliches Laptop (das auf dem Bild) gekauft. So eines braucht er nochmal. Obwohl ich da einen sehr hohen Rabatt bekomme, kosten die Geräte trotzdem noch ca. 2000€.

Ich besorge das Laptop, und meine Freundin und ich kümmern uns darum, dass es schnell, sicher und direkt zu Serhiy in die Ukraine kommt.

Bekommen wir das nochmal zusammen?

Das sind Serhiy und ich. Er kommt aus Kyiv und lebt dort mit seiner Familie mit drei Kindern.

Serhiy ist er Luftbild-Kameramann. Jede*r von euch hat seine Arbeit schon gesehen. In meinem Regal steht auch ein schöner Bildband mit Bildern von Kyiv im Jahresverlauf, die er gemacht hat.

Seit der Invasion setzt er sein Wissen und Können an anderer Stelle ein - in der Drohnenentwicklung, im Training von Operatoren und auch selbst im Einsatz. Aktuell ist er an der Front in der Gegend um Pokrovsk.
