I decided to try it in another colourway out of curiosity (again… under $5, so 🤷🏼).

Very clean and highly readable but I think I still prefer the black and yellow.

Again the main motivation for this purchase was the strap. And it is quite nice. Silicone and hence soft. Nice texture on the outside. Lots of holes for air and fine adjustment. Also quick release and small notches on the strap holders, so they do not slip.

As I said, the price was worth it just for the strap (with 'free' watch).

Plus they do this watch and strap in a bunch of colours.

I tried the #Casio ABL-100 on one of the new leather straps I bought. Perhaps hard to see in this light but I think it works.

I would usually avoid negative displays because they never have great readability but this is big enough that it's not the worst, at least as these things go. I'll check it out in direct sunlight tomorrow and then I'll really find out, I suppose.

Looking on AliExpress for a strap that pops a bit (yellow or red) and I came across this watch for $4, which is only a fraction more than just a strap. Also to get free shipping, I had to get over $10 anyway. So I just bought the watch because, why not? Actually I don't hate the watch, now I have it. 🤔

It's simple and does the job, kinda like a basic Casio does. Obviously a very different style. This one is actually one of their own designs AFAICT, rather than a rip off.

I'm working from home and I was in a video conference call when my daughter walked up to me and asked to borrow one of my cards so she could go to the shops and buy something.

My colleagues in the meeting made jokes that they might see my card number as I pulled it out of my wallet.

Honestly, I'm not worried. 😉

Make of it what you will this is not intended as advertising. There are downsides to Amex, not least acceptance in many parts of Europe. Also, as stated maybe I am just consistently lucky but it is enough times I just felt like mentioning it. When I was finished with them today, I was left with the thought, "Well, that was easy!"

Again, that is sort of how it should be but since it so often isn't (at least for me with other providers) I couldn't help but be impressed.

I have an #AmericanExpress card and have done now for 20+ years. I do not use it as my main card but retain it as a secondary for certain reasons.

Anyway, in that time I have contacted customer service just a handful of times, most recently just now. Maybe I am lucky but it is always easy.

Today I used the chat in their app. In less than a minute I was talking to a human and within 5 minutes it was resolved.

This should not sound special but compared with other services I have used… it is. 🤷🏼
