Knowing that Trump is term limited Russia plans to turn on him and antagonize him.

Trump is notoriously thin skinned and Russia can toy with him like a cat playing with a toy.

To start, having distant Canadian relatives does not offer "proofs of a current of maple syrup running through my children’s veins" any more than I can claim to be a First Nation (what you Americans derisively term Indians).

Second, Canada's identity is much more than "Not Americans", you're inflating what is merely a quick quip.

• These "grid can't support it" arguments were always dubious to me because it assumes every vehicle will always be charged at the highest rate possible at all times. In practice few would do this. In fact, if every destination today we're equipped with a Class 1 AC charger I think most people would never have less than 90% charge at all times and (b/c Class 1) would basically sip power when they do.

Mass production of Na-ion batteries is going to be a game changer.

Gone will be "we can't go electric b/c the grid can't support it" arguments (*).

Everywhere can have a store of on demand power that trickle charges at all times. It's more robust too.

Keep the more costly and higher energy density Li-ion for transportation.

And we can stop burning hydrocarbons, instead using them for Materials Science.
