Finally got my hair cut today by Seth at his Barbershop down in Red Deer. Great guy, great conversation, and he’s very good at what he does! Feeling better and excited about getting back to recording videos! So I’m looking forward to that!

Testing. Is this thing on?
Trying out Micro.blog to occasionally share my thoughts and cross-post to Mastodon and Bluesky while enjoying the other benefits of posting from here instead.
Anyway, here are photos of my cat and a neighborhood rabbit!

As we enter 2025, I have decided to take an indefinite hiatus from Social Media and its increasingly toxic, relentless pace.
I will post occasionally, check replies and DMs, and keep my Bluesky and Mastodon accounts active.
I can still be reached via email, Signal, and WhatsApp. Blog post soon.

"It would be impossible to train today’s leading AI models without using copyrighted materials."
Saying 'we can't make afford to be in business without breaking the law and therefore you should let us break the law' is one helluva flex.

Mac is certainly a viable option. I have a Mac Mini and love it, but it does NOT replace my Windows PCs. Each has their purposes.
I used Linux Mint for two months. It's fine for basic tasks if you're comfortable with it, but it does NOT replace Windows for a typical user.
Here's my blog post about it

I know @NunavutBirder is in Arctic Bay, NU. They don't see the sun from Nov 5th until Feb 6th (?). He's clearly distracting himself by building his cabin, among other things. :)

I've been a nightowl for most of my life. I tend to function better at night. But this time of year is tough.
I'll sleep until noon or 1pm most days, do a few chores, and catch the last glimpses of daylight on the porch. So, basically, it's always dark.
Days start getting longer soon.

Predictably, anything without 4WD is getting stuck at every opportunity in the Buffalo lake effect blizzard dumping 20 inches (50cm).
This storm chaser live streaming on YouTube is literally just driving around and digging people out all night.
Stay home, people. It's just not worth it.

I confirmed with Apple last week that Apple Notes WILL NOT allow you to export your own recording.
Forum posts suggest Audio HiJack, so I bought that and now it's recording the playback from Notes. Money I should NOT have to spend, but whatever. It works.
