As we enter 2025, I have decided to take an indefinite hiatus from Social Media and its increasingly toxic, relentless pace.

Mac is certainly a viable option. I have a Mac Mini and love it, but it does NOT replace my Windows PCs. Each has their purposes.

I used Linux Mint for two months. It's fine for basic tasks if you're comfortable with it, but it does NOT replace Windows for a typical user.

I know @NunavutBirder is in Arctic Bay, NU. They don't see the sun from Nov 5th until Feb 6th (?). He's clearly distracting himself by building his cabin, among other things. :)

I've been a nightowl for most of my life. I tend to function better at night. But this time of year is tough.

I'll sleep until noon or 1pm most days, do a few chores, and catch the last glimpses of daylight on the porch. So, basically, it's always dark.

Days start getting longer soon.

Predictably, anything without 4WD is getting stuck at every opportunity in the Buffalo lake effect blizzard dumping 20 inches (50cm).

This storm chaser live streaming on YouTube is literally just driving around and digging people out all night.

I confirmed with Apple last week that Apple Notes WILL NOT allow you to export your own recording.

Forum posts suggest Audio HiJack, so I bought that and now it's recording the playback from Notes. Money I should NOT have to spend, but whatever. It works.

Just finished up a longer than expected phone and FaceTime call with Mom to discuss some things, and change some settings on her new iPhone using screen share and remote control, per her request.
