any of y'all know how to get #orcaslicer to NOT generate support that doesn't touch the build plate when it's inside a support enforcer block?

been banging my head against this (which is a #shakuhachi of course)

I'm looking at some #pluslife results that aren't like any I've seen before. It read as negative but the scarily red item #6 is exhibiting new-to-me motion that seems like it might be concerning. Look familiar to anyone? (I also have the .json data if that might be useful.) #virussucks

Guess what? Only when my #activitypub server started receiving higher volumes of Notes did I notice that the .conversation field is often null. Why is this a problem? Because this is when I implemented threaded views which use the conversation values as a selection criterion. So, now I know that... several days' worth of (unrelated) postings without any conversation field make a really long, unmanageable, nonsensical thread. :(

Chard harvest. This was probably about 2/3 of the total quantity.

Note: I'm not the garderner, just the gardener's partner :)

I'm looking for an online seller to sell (and send) me some Taiwanese-made soy sauce here in Melbourne. Does anyone know of someone who does that? (I've already checked the actual physical shops that are nearby; I need some place online.) #taiwan

Once upon a time, my brother Dan worked for a company that had hired James Earl Jones to do some narration.

At some point all of the prepared text had been read but Jones had been booked for a certain amount of time and he was in the studio with nothing left to read. So, naturally, they[*] asked him to read the names of all the company's employees, which is why I can share with you this recording of James Earl Jones saying Dan's name.

Fortunately, since he and I share a last name, this means that my ringtone can be James Earl Jones saying BORNSTEIN over and over.

@Cdespinosa@mastodon.social's comment that he interviewed 2 out of 7 of Apple's CEOs made me remember this.

For the record, I would like to point out that (a) it was a Van Dyke, not two days of beard, and (b) it was a skirt, not a dress. #apple

I'm mostly posting to demonstrate oolong's new feature, which is more or less QTing. Here I've pasted the URL of an #ActivityPub object:

And here's what it will look like in the oolong client:

If you are a lover of #saucisson and also in #australia, I encourage you to order some from https://www.saucissons.com.au.

We've been a customer of theirs for years and it's always been excellent, but in our latest order we got something of theirs we hadn't had before (100 day aged) and it was nearly immediately evident that it was the best saucisson that I have ever had, ever.

To be clear, I've had a lot of saucisson. De plus, ma partenaire est française et elle a le même avis.

This is a casual-ish screen recording of the in-progress UI state of oolong, my #ActivityPub / #Mastodon server+client.

I started with the traditional four columns but recently switched to a more dynamic style where the utility/controls column and the timeline column are the only constants. As you can see I haven't worked out the right way to make the column widths balance, and haven't spent any time trying to e.g. adjust font sizes when columns are small, etc.

But already, with the paradigm shift of new-stuff-at-the-bottom I like it a lot better than new-stuff-at-the-top interfaces because the natural reading order of text for me is top-to-bottom.

Looking at some Javascript code that I wrote, all of a sudden it seemed bizarre that there were all these semicolons at the ends of statements. I think that was something like when repeating a word seems to suck all the meaning out of it.
