Nearly lost the roof to the bin sheds about 1ish. Had to run out and but 6 bricks on it, charging out the back garden in my sliders.

Bit of roof damage in other houses, aluminium ridging has lifted and is flapping in gusts. Time to head out for bottle of wine soon.

Deepseek R1 running locally is insanely impressive. If that truly cost 5.5 million to produce then the equity uplift from AI that all the FAANG stocks got is going to be wiped out.

There won't be a reason to buy 100,000 H100 from Nvidia to train your model.

As soon as this realisation seeps into equity markets then there is going to be carnage.

This #Stargate AI stuff really reeks of desperation. I don't see any great commercial products coming through and everybody seems to be losing money.

With MS offering $80B of their hosted AI services as part of the deal, it tells me they have over bought on infrastructure and nobody is using it.

So Altman has went running to the government, who are typically stupid enough to buy anything.

There is space in the market for a cheap device that anybody can connect to their standard ISP home router which would offer ad guard home type services.

95% of the population will never be able to set up a PI running this stuff and change their DNS settings. I feel sorry for parents who can't control what their kids see.

If Man U had got shot of him years ago I am absolutely sure they would have had vastly improved in all competitions.

87 goals in 287 league games over 10 seasons is complete failure for a supposed top class player. He always got a game though despite hardly bothering, must have killed morale for other players.

As a "real engineer", who does software, I can 100% tell you how this interaction played out. "Did you take statics" is a push back, civil engineers just don't randomly pull this, he was getting hassled by Mr Software whilst he went about his job.

Mr software has now went crying to twitter about his long standing insecurity that he is not a real engineer.
