My favourite “bit” in Taika Waititi’s “Interior: Chinatown” series was the use of the Untitled Goose Game “HONK!” sound.

It’s my message alert sound, so I was very attuned to it.

My go-bag had all its contents ruined (original identity documents included) when my top-floor apartment flooded (!!). Bag was on the floor, near the door…:-(

Well actually, it’s a mistranslation of Jøïn Mastodon, a famous artisanal punch-card designer.

You would socially swap “cards” and make “threads” in a shared space called an “Instànçe”.

I just remembered why I unfollowed a famous California tweeter (I refollowed them on another service):

18 hours a day of ‘expert’ advice/statement threads on every topic known to humankind. Takes no feedback, defending with ‘this is my lived experience’. Actual experts get chewed up.

round here we do loud ‘hawaiian shirts’ re-/de- appropriating them for xmas which in itself is maybe a hemisphere-at-most conglomeration of a bunch of celebrations×festivals

I can’t use Unsubscribe links, as they have tracking attached, and I have that blocked at the network level.

But I can’t use a VPN to access the link, because of HASHTAG_CLOUDFLARE “protection” or “unusual” traffic from my IP.

I don’t foresee Malcolm Gladwell’s new “Revenge of The Tipping Point” being an enduring bestseller.

My quick flick at it didn’t show any real insights into online memetic/rhizomatic culture and distribution, and the Overstory tool seems a bit undercooked.

Ironically/memetically, the copy I was sent was galley proof via a messaging network.
