-- CRITICAL CVE UPDATE FOR DEBIAN--

Fixes for a critical rsync vulnerability (CVE-2024-12084) have been released for Stable/Bookworm, Testing and Unstable. Oldstable/Bullseye is not affected. Fixes for other lower severity CVEs have also been released in the same update and can all be tracked at https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/source-package/rsync. The fixed Stable version is 3.2.7-1+deb12u1 and the fixed Testing/Unstable version is 3.3.0+ds1-3

Debian should publish a micronews article about this soon.

Just released a new version of wcurl:

There's 3 new exciting features:

• New option "-o|-O|--output" for those who would like to choose the output filename.

• Automatic percent-decoding of output filenames, especially handy for URLs which are not written in Latin-based languages.

• Default filename set to "index.html" for those cases where wcurl/curl couldn't identify an output filename from the URL. You can now download everything with wcurl!

I've finished adding subtitles to my 4th DebConf presentation, and with that I wrote a blog post with a summary of everything.

I've just published on Youtube my wcurl short presentation from the lighting talks of this year's DebConf.

wcurl as simple script that lets you use curl to download files without having to remember any parameters.
