Midnight post because the Minolta adapter arrived today. No weather (or light) for a photo walk though, so I did some experiments at my desk instead. Here's the XE-5 posing all pretty-like, sporting a 28/3.5 lens.

The camera of course doesn't apply any CA or other corrections, but it doesn't really seem to be that much of a problem. Did some quick side-by-side comparisons of the Canon 32/1.4 and a Minolta 35/2.8, and the Minolta is noticeably softer (no surprise). That's ~character~, I guess. The old glass still seems to perform well despite its age, and I'll definitely need to try this vintage-digital combination out in the wild for some actual results.

With analog cameras having revived my interest in #photography lately, I decided to invest a little in renewing my digital equipment as well. Both because the old 450D is now a little underwhelming and because a mirrorless camera would let me use my Minolta lenses digitally. I'll be experimenting with that as soon as the adapter arrives.

Did a couple of test shots around the house. This one takes inspiration from, but does not make justice to, the excellent everyday photography of @Tsbasatoru@gram.social. Highly recommend checking out his work!

‘Retro’ colours for a retro bicycle. It's happened twice, so I guess it's a rule now: if I come across an old blue bike while carrying a camera, I have to photograph it.

Also, apparently the Swedes used to have licence plates for bikes back in the day? You can still see some of these roaming the city streets in-between all the electric scooters and other modern riff-raff.

Proof that despite the XE-5's usually very reliable CLC light meter, exposing this old roll at EI 64 was a little optimistic. Although it did give some interesting results.

An old petrol station from 1928 (replica) for #Doorsday.

I thought I'd test some ISO 400/27° colour film while I was out and about in the dark season. Judging by the results I just got back, NC500 is an interesting film stock – sometimes pleasant, sometimes just annoying. The grain and muted colours are according to spec, but it might be interesting to see it developed in ECN-2.
