Sometimes I accidentally trigger Siri on my watch and it will do things like create a reminder based on what I’m saying. It can get pretty surreal.

By complete coincidence, Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan’s CEO, was singing the praises of tariffs the other day. Now it turns out JPMorgan’s about to make a tonne of money on demand for gold, driven by - you guessed it - fear of tariffs.

Neither is finance an engine of growth for other businesses. Remarkably little financial activity is loans to business. Mostly, it’s banks borrowing money off each other, shuffling paper round and creating nothing valuable at all. Time for the whole thing to stop.

The biggest problem I have with Labour at the moment is they’re basically doing their level best to hand Reform the next election, by “proving” there isn’t any difference between them and the Tories.

Really interesting video from the System76 people working on COSMIC Alpha. What I didn't really understand was they are intending this to be a desktop that people can build other desktops on top of. That's really interesting.

If Reeves does this it will be the final piece of evidence that when she talks about “growth" she's talking about city profits rather than money for ordinary people.
