It seems that my vision changed and after a lifetime using dark themes now I have to use light ones 😔

Currently I use zenburn for #emacs and #terminal Any suggestions for light themes?

The banning of #TikTok fits perfectly with the US double standards mindset and way of doing things. They're afraid of TikTok spying on them while they're perfectly ok having Meta, Google, Microsoft, Twitter,... spying on the rest of the world. Go figure

disclaimer: I don't use TikTok, I never used it, and I'm against it, the very same I'm against all the #unethical businesses, software & hardware products that spy and squeeze people, no matter where they come from.

I remember using #Twitter and people was #flooding all the time with the same tweets over and over again because of visibility. Here on #Mastodon it happened to me already two times an interesting thing: old toots that suddenly starts to look like new because people starts to comment and boost it again without me doing anything at all.

What I value most of #fediverse is that for me is a place to engage with people in the good sense: sharing knowledge, exchange opinions and having conversations.

Do you know that on #Mastodon you can choose the #language of the posts you subscribe when you follow someone like me who post on different languages?

In my case you can subscribe to posts in English, in Spanish or both (by default). This is a great feature that let's us all to post in any language without the need of different profiles. Of course people has to set this up on their profile to let you do it but if everyone does the right thing it rocks 😎

The curse of today is that everything is a whole world. For things that used to be very simple and straightforward, now you almost need a college degree. I was thinking about buying a #bicycle for using the car less, avoiding car parking problems, doing some cardio and maybe for some recreational use too.

When I was a kid there where two types of #bikes your grandpa's one and the BMXs, now there are lots of different types and 1000 things to take into account. I feel already overwhelmed.

Today I came across this:

"On Unix-based systems, we use either the ifconfig or ip addr commands. The ifconfig command is the old way and is now deprecated on some systems. The ipaddr command is the new way, but not all systems support it yet."

I think people should check their assumptions before writing things like this in a book because this nonsense only happens on #GNU #Linux, which is not an Unix-based system but an UNIX-like system. After all, GNU stands for Gnu is Not #UNIX

It seems they're desperate to have people using their crappy editor and #LLM (what they call an #AI ). No, thank you. I prefer to make my own mistakes instead of letting your "AI" messing with my code, and in the unlikely event that I were forced to use #VSCode I'd use #VSCodium instead.

"The History of the BSD Daemon" a fun and informative talk by McKusick. I knew part of it but not everything.

I encourage you to watch it because it's a very nice and interesting piece of UNIX and computers History.
