Dear culture war enthusiasts: after Christmas and the Australia Day, don't forget the war on the Chinese New Year (see e.g. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/28/asia/chinese-lunar-new-year-controversy-intl-hnk/index.html)

Speaking of which, please don't call it the Lunar New Year. It is wrong because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar. It by default has 12 moons (following lunar cycles) each year, but it also follows the sun and an extra moon is added once every few years. This is why the CNY, the first day of the year in the Chinese calendar, always falls on January or February.
