I have to say that I am loving the US AI companies getting crushed and then pissing and moaning about it. Perfect!

I've not yet tried a static site generator to build sites but after today's news about Mullenweg kissing Trump's ass, it looks like it's time to learn.

I just started a new online HTML & CSS Bootcamp course. My first step in becoming an actual web developer and not just pretending that I know what the hell I'm doing. Even after 30 years in IT, it's very apparent by my 9 months of unemployment that companies aren't interested in me. Is it my age? I have no idea. All I know is that I need to change course, I think. Being broke really sucks.

This is what happens when you listen to your users and build for them, instead of shoving something in their face they don't want.

I'm working through @bw's HTML for People again since I didn't have the chance to finish a few months back when it was released. Deleted the work that I had done previously on my personal site and starting all over again. Working with HTML and CSS again is so much fun!

Fucking AI. I hate it. And I'm no fan of companies like Microsoft, either. Oh, and billionaires.

My Dell monitor of, roughly, 5 years made a zapping noise and then shut off. When I was finally able to get it to power back up, it had lots of horizontal lines running through it. Thankfully, a kind soul sent me a laptop back when I lost my job 8 or 9 months ago so I'm still able to get some things done.

So, how's your day going?

So, I applied for an open position at a Linux hardware company that I have a lot of respect for but, of course, with my job search record of the past 8 or 9 months, I completely expect the application to be thrown in the trash bin.

I received a letter a few days ago from a company that works with health insurance companies informing me of a "privacy event" that happened back in February of 2024. Just fucking incredible. I'm just now being told about this nearly a year after it happened. Not only does our healthcare in this country suck, the companies that work within it also suck.
