I have been using #Redshift on #LinuxMint, but just tried the new in-built #NightLight. Don't like it as much, as unlike Redshift it doesn't have an option to change the brightness at night. You can remove the blue light from my screen, but if it's still just as bright I have issues.

I normally like @linuxmint's changes in new versions and their general direction, however I'm not a fan of them removing the option to show the volume percentage in the media OSD...

Their reasoning (https://github.com/linuxmint/mint22.1-beta/issues/4#issuecomment-2535973291) seems to read as "We know some people care about setting the volume to a specific number, but we don't think they should care about it, so we removed it."

And don't bother asking for a setting to toggle this; they seem to be against that too.

With #DivestOS' sunset, I finally got around to installing #LineageOS instead. Thought it was a good time to try out some new apps while I'm at it, so also installed #IronFox, #Tusky and #Fossify's Messages (was previously using Mull, Mastodon and AOSP's Messaging apps respectively).

I launched a new #website: https://firsttimewatching.com/

It's for people who like watching #FirstTimeWatching videos of #movies and #TVSeries. It lets you find #reaction videos for your favourite movies and shows.

Built using #BackdropCMS and uses the #YouTube and #TMDB APIs.

I wonder what would happen if I asked an #AI to write me a prompt that, if given to an AI, would cause it to self-destruct...

I've been away from front-end dev work for a (long) while. Very excited to see that #CSS now has nesting!

I'm not sure if the issue is #Cryptpad itself, just the version running on cryptpad.disroot.org, or the fact that #Disroot is hosted in the Netherlands and I'm in Australia, but every time I try to open my bookmarked Cryptpad spreadsheet, it takes 60 seconds or more before I can start using it...

I currently run @safing's #Portmaster in 'Block by default' mode for #privacy. But I'm getting frustrated by constantly having to check the logs and allowing individual domains when I install a new app. Or I end up just allowing an app as a whole in order to avoid this.

Is there any benefit in configuring Portmaster to 'Allow by default' in a set-and-forget kind of way? (I don't want to be tweaking it all the time) Or, since I also run #NextDNS, is there no real need for Portmaster?

I hate it when there's an image on a webpage, and you click on it and it opens in a popup, but it ends up being smaller than the original image on the webpage đŸ¤Ļ‍♂ī¸

My #GP just requested that I register for #MyMedicare. I've seen posters about it before, and thought I saw that it was optional... I looked it up to read what the benefits are. Basically there are none (for me). Since it is optional, no thanks.

[#]BackdropCMS uses unix timestamps for its dates. I set the created date of a 'movie' node to the release date of the movie.

The movie was released in 1959. That's the first time I've seen a negative timestamp! 😄
