Hi. I thought I'd #askfedi if there's a way to tell a water-based polyurethane from an oil-based one when you don't have the product label anymore? Maybe by smell?

Am asking so I know how to clean up afterwards. I got some of it from the office maintenance guy and he gave it to me in a plain glass jar. I also didn't know there was a difference at the time.

I got my fav Steam game (Torchlight2) to run well on my Linux Mint install! The editor works fine too. Now I just have to reconstruct my modding toolset.

This was my "acid test" for staying on Linux. It's a little irksome to have to check with protondb.com for fixes if needed, but not a dealbreaker.

I wasn't inspired much by today's (11/28) Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 145 : 2 - 10). So I'm posting verses 17 -19 instead 😇.

Hi fediverse. I want to design a game where all the components that make up "the interplanetary file system" will be represented as "factions".

Could someone pls sketch me a simple but complete diagram of these components, what is their role/what they do, broadly speaking, and their relation (again, just broadly) with the other components?

Ive tried searching for such a diagram but they are almost always too technical for me >:.

Need to see how well LibreOffice Impress compares to MS Powerpoint, since I use Pp a lot for it's drawing/imaging features (weird I know).

Second is games. Still need to research all that. Most of my stuff is from Steam 🤞

But things look good so far, I just need to keep remembering this is to get away from M$!

I am posting from my new Linux Mint (MATE) installation. I chickened out and used the "live CD", or in my case live USB, setup. Got my essential FF addons and here we are.

This is very nice (read: painless) so far! I have 2 critical use cases this setup has to pass. First is work stuff which should not be difficult since I mainly use online tools like google workspace/apps.

1. Found I still had materials to make some more gesso, so didn't have to go out and buy.

2. Am trying a tutorial which recommends getting it to the consistency of milk, then applying several thin layers (with drying between layers).

3. It's looking like it'll be a very nice surface to paint on. Excited to start (but it may be tomorrow yet)!

2. Going downtown for what would have been just a checkup for my wife has been transformed into sort of a family outing, because our daughter is coming along (we see her too rarely).❤️
