A while ago (probably more than I’d like to believe) someone (maybe Hamilton Nolan?) wrote a piece satirizing civil-discourse debates, demanding the New York Times opinion section let him come to their office and insult them for an hour lest they be silencing him. I can’t find any trace of it now.

Seize the day like a toddler seizes a sharp object you swear was placed far enough back on the counter, how did they even physically reach that?

Slop security reports was already an issue pre-LLMs, and it's definitely getting worse. One big danger is I think it makes it easier to miss or de-prioritize real reports — often the LLM writers are more polished and convincing on the surface.

Something I didn’t see mentioned is insurance and its impact. It costs enormous amounts, and then ultimately guides who you pick to defend you, which impacts your legal strategy, which impacts your outcomes, etc. forever. Plus even worse, what I’ve heard from peers doing amazing work: Get sued once, win, your insurance rates spike. Get sued again, win again, and you’re still virtually uninsurable.
