Absolutely wild that Nginx only resolves DNS for proxy_pass once on startup.
Unless you use a variable, and then it's resolved (against a custom resolver) every 5 minutes.
Obviously.

A significant blindspot of the OSA is the extent to which enforcing very strict age requirements on public services will simply drive groups into closed, unmoderated, unobservable chat rooms - like Signal, Telegram or (more likely) WhatsApp.
That'll be effectively unregulated - good luck to them for trying.
But the damage to public discourse, forums, mailing lists etc. will have been done, with the corresponding loss of collective knowledge...
Really, really hate this.

If you're in #reading and/or a #hackspace person, then you'll be pleased to hear rLab has made it onto Fedi 🎉
Go follow @rlab.org.uk for all sorts of woodworking, metalworking, laser cutting and general hackspace nonsense. Plus Mate.
(Yes, this is a Bsky bridge but it's better than before)
Boosts appreciated for reach 🙂

Poland has a digital identity app which allows you to do various cool things, alongside proving who you are.
Amazingly the wireframes are available online: https://bz6uuy.axshare.com/?id=6d8880&p=mdow_d_-_guide_0
Really interesting 👀

What do we reckon; damaged/loose ribbon cable? Damaged display?
Horizontal line goes all the way across. There were some others, but they've disappeared.
No obvious event which caused this, and it's a ThinkPad so been dropped a lot before...

(The great irony of the A34 is that it essentially recreates the railway link that was lost)

Notably the structures on this route are not brick, as they initially appear, but a concrete core faced with brick. The aforementioned viaduct is historically significant in that regard, although I don't believe they succeeded in listing it.
Someone (who presumably owns the land) has turned one of the freight wagons into a rather nice looking 'shed'!

The Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway closed in the 1960s (Beeching) having never made it all the way to Southampton.
There's still a surprising amount of it left - I walked the trackbed near Didcot a few years ago, and the viaduct just outside Winchester is now part of the NCN.
This section crosses the River Test and is in good condition. Some beached wagons remain on an overbridge, but the A34 (built 30 years post-closure) severs the trackbed into Whitchurch.
