A few weeks ago I took a picture of tomcat Maxl at this cat tree and initially thought "this reminds me of something!" (but it wasn't clear to me what it was)

Then, a few days ago, it came to me at last: it was John Baxter's famous sketch depicting the so called Dover Demon (this was a mysterious creature spotted in Dover, Massachusetts, in 1977) 😁

This picture of Simba and Michi is unmodified (I just cropped it to the selection)

The impression of their heads being grown together is especially meaningful when you know that they have a very tight relationship to each other (they lived together on the street, stayed in the same hideout in our shelter and luckily we found someone who adopted both)

I'm looking for a new distro as my daily driver and I would like to use the immutable version of #Fedora (Silverblue)

But since I also want to use #Tor browser it looks like the situation is complicated

There is no official flatpack version of the Tor browser

It looks like if I want to use it on Fedora Silverblue I have to enable a third-party repository offering an inofficial flatpack version of the Tor browser

I don't want to offend anybody, but I think this is a dealbreaker for me 🙁

Chet Baker, one of the most important #Jazz musicians of all time, was born #OTD in 1929 and is mostly associated with playing the trumpet

Though I'm usually into Heavy Metal, I have a kind of personal relationship to Chet and his music

I see some parallels to my own life (e.g. problems with alcohol and temporary loss of two teeth)

Also my anxiety disorder once was so bad that it was very hard for me to fall asleep at night. Then I always turned on "But not for me" (on constant replay and at a very low volume). It was just me lying in the dark, listening to Chet playing the trumpet somewhere in the distance and it made me feel safe. I will never forget this experience

He died in Amsterdam in 1988 and is buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery in California
