Hey, random - but does anyone use #obsidian and understand the #dataview plugin? If so, can I get your help with something. Thanks!

Hey @ChrisLawley, just catching up on your Obsidian setup video. I've been using Obsidian for a couple of years now, but your video has me learning things, and LOVE your aesthetic. Thanks.

It's just yer average London cityscape, seen from the roof of 'The Garden at 120'. I love that sense of expanse, and being able to look eye-to-eye with things you would normally only look up at.

I love the fact that 'The Garden at 120' gives you an almost eyeline view of one of London's best known buildings. The 'Gherkin' is within spitting distance, and looks SO good in the low cloud.

One of the very many views along the River Taw, in Dartmoor. There's something quite evocative when the fog rolls in.

Another image from my series 'The Wild Inside' - looking at the Dartmoor scenery as some kind of reflection of what is going on inside of me as I get older.

What an experience!!!

MUCH higher refresh rate, the resolution seems to be WAY higher than 8k, the colours are outstanding, the whites whiter, the blacks blacker. A 360˚ experience that's just so frickin' immersive.

It's FREE. No subscription model, no paywall, no algorithm, no targeted ads, and you get to choose the experience.

It's got positive mental, emotional and physical health benefits built-in as standard.

The best part is that it's just outside your front door.

Let's go!

One of the things I like about touching down in a new place, is that what everyone else takes for granted, you see with fresh eyes.

No-one looks up anymore, and I find that sad. Because when you do, you are reminded that things can be beautiful, even when they're not naturally formed

I'll do a more fleshed-out series of my trip to London this week. But, suffice to say, I was like a pig in muck with all the low cloud and fog in the city.

I don't often get up to the city these days, but I'm so glad I was entertained with the good stuff whilst I was there.

Whirlwind tour of London. Garden at 120, lots of walking around, river cruise along the Thames, dinner at The Pem, tour of the Tower of London, walking to Covent Garden for lunch, then back to the station to come home.

Bosh

Spending the next two days in London, walking around with a camera and, for a country boy, I couldn't be happier.

I'm not politically motivated in any way, but I know what day it is. I'm not American, so have less skin in the game than others

But I'm in my 50s and have seen a fair few political decisions being made over the years.

Can I offer a piece of advice?

Be Kind.

50% of the US is going to be really upset at the end of this, and the media would portray each side in the worst possible light. Most people voting are just good people putting their hope in a better future.

That's all. x

Half of the joy of walking around Dartmoor is getting off the track and finding unusual things to shoot. You get surprised by the unusual and discordant...a little like some of my thought life at times.

I can sometimes feel like this sheep. Some of my thoughts, which might never get shared feel alien in a changing landscape, maybe sometimes even archaic. But they are mine to have, and that's important to me.

I feel increasingly at odds with a culture, which is beginning to be shaped and changed by little of what I remember growing up. Some of this I see as natural, others not.
