I really do like @manet but in the recent versions the bugs seem to have gotten worse. 😐
The app now frequently crashes or gives me errors requiring me to try again.

It’s not a new year’s resolution but I felt like it’s time to reduce the distractions on my phone by turning off notification sounds and vibrations for most apps that are not urgent, like emails etc.
I also turned off haptic feedback and I somehow feel more relaxed already.

I must admit I have never seriously studied #AWS or any other public cloud. But now I feel like it’s time to start studying it. Where do I even begin?

I am honestly impressed when I read the changelog of #1Password that even after all these years they still do a ton of work on the app.

Isn't @Mastodon software made in Europe, a place with many different languages, all united by the use of English?
If so, why can't we have the language filter work on posts from people we follow? Some people I follow post in another language that I don't speak, but I'd like to follow them for the other half in English.

They just keep coming for more…
Valuable and fair criticism is still rejected. Why can't they just do what everybody else is doing?

I think there’s a bug in @ivory . When you swipe to remove an account in settings you get a confirmation message that asks you to enter "delete" into a text field if you’re sure. I chose cancel but the account is now gone 🤨
(Yes I tried restarting the app)

What I love about #Jellyfin is the freedom. The freedom to just listen to music or watch movies without having to worry about some algorithm trying to profile my taste or some mega corp trying to restrict access to it at a moment's notice.

@ivory This is still happening with the latest version. Before #Ivory would show the toot I just composed, I was able to open a new tab in my browser, navigate to my instance and read the too there. All while Ivory was still acting like there are no fresh toots to show. After another minute it magically appeared when I tried refreshing for the 10th time 😂

So I gave installing Windows another try this weekend. After simply flashing the ISO to a USB drive did not work (even though the installer booted) I tried some random guide that had me create partitions with gparted and extract the ISO into them.
Lo and behold, this magically worked! 🤷♂️

Is there anything you can still do with a #RaspberryPi 2 Model B? #HomeAssistant does not run and it's probably also too slow NVR stuff. 100-MBit-Ethernet is also too slow for many networking tasks..

I was wondering why my server become quite DNS-unstable until I noticed that my DNS upstream 9.9.9.9 is very unreliable. Often queries just get a timeout until the third retry works and then the fourth one might fail again.

[#]ProtonMail is great but I was wondering why I can only send an email with read receipt from my desktop and not from my mobile app (iOS)?
Also, the apps don't seem to support setting a priority. I think using the Bridge with Thunderbird works (though I don't know if it's actually transmitted to the recipient).
Is this maybe already being worked on?

The worst part is that it doesn’t even tell me why or what device it needs it for. I assume it’s the NVMe drive because that’s the only device I could think of that is required for installation.
Installing a second drive (SATA) also didn’t make a difference 😐

I just tried (and failed) installing Windows on a somewhat modern machine (AMD 5900X, B550) and I feel like installing Gentoo would be easier at this point.
It keeps prompting me to locate drivers and I tried all the files from Asus and some SATA/NVMe driver from AMD. 🤷♂️

When did #USB sticks finally become fast? Just discovered the Transcend JetFlash 930C and it can apparently reach write speeds north of 300 MB/s. Though I am not sure how long it can sustain that speed…

@ivory Why is it, that when I send a toot, refreshing the main feed will sometimes not show it for a long time (like half a minute even with constant manual refreshing)? In the web UI of Mastodon it’s pretty much immediately there once it’s sent.

@manet When I play music from Manet to an AirPlay 2 speaker (IKEA Symfonisk) it for some reason buffers several seconds and is very delayed like what you see on older AirPlay 1 speakers. Is this an iOS limitation or something you could implement?
