Uhoh, I'm having my roughly once-per-year thoughts about getting back into #Drupal.

Haven't been on here much this week, but this morning's visit was timed perfectly to read that Hobbycraft have a decent sale on.

Lots of new aida fabric, some air dry clay and some random replacement elastic coming my way!

Thanks for the heads up, @JustFi :D

It really hasn't been much of a craft week this week, for reasons. But I have managed to turn this heel and do a fair bit of leg, so that's a small victory right there.

My review: A barely disguised fetish project with a load of boob-rubbing where a plot should be. Incoherent and all-round terrible.

@davetansley's review: Interesting film. Good cinematography.

Reviews from #Monsterdon were so damning, how could we resist?

Internet is down, I repeat internet is down!

I'll have to take a break from boosting crafts and go dark for a bit. See you all when this, for want of a better phrase, blows over.

We're by no means in the serious danger zone for this storm ("only" an amber warning, over here). Good luck to those who are.

But it's heckin' windy here already and due to get worse over the next few hours. Definitely a day for tea, blankets, knowing where the torch batteries are, and feeling small in the face of nature!

We've decided not to risk putting the bin out.

Been having a bit of bother with this sock.

My original plan was to test out the Addi Sock Wonder mini circular that I picked up last year. But despite reasssurances from all sides that it would change my life I kind of...hated it right from the start?

Gave it a good go, but after a bit of research I found that those ones are nearly an inch longer than most mini circs. And since I have pretty narrow feet, maybe the length was the issue?

I ordered a more standard 9" one instead (ChiaoGoo Knit Red) and two rounds in, it already seems much better!

We live and learn.

To be a bit more useful with this post, if anyone does relate to this brain nonsense one of the things on my list that is most helpful is what I call "writing a conversation".

Basically I'll write down "what's wrong?" and then write an answer as if it's another person doing the asking. Sometimes it takes a bit of probing from the "other person" to get to the real bottom of things.

Then other person will ask more questions, like what's the worst case scenario of the thing I'm worried about, what will be my plan if that happens, what is under my control vs not, etc etc whatever I'd be saying to a friend in the same situation.

Genuinely helps me a ton, maybe it can help someone else out there too 🤷‍♀️

Ok. Last night? Weird rejection sensitivity spiral. Today? Stayed in bed until nearly half ten.

Houston, we have a problem!

Luckily I've prepared for this. Softest pyjamas are on. Hugging session requested and received. I have a whole "emergency self-care" list saved for times like these and will work my way down. Also there's a big thing of grapes in the fridge that are just for me.

You will not defeat me, you stupid brain. I have things to do!

This WIP Wednesday I'm mostly finding a suitable colour combo for this sample stitch. But I also got myself a little treat!

See, I like to break down my life goals into a sort of ladder of milestones. And at the top of the financial ladder is, naturally, "get rich enough to start a crafting commune with all my weird friends".

But at the very bottom of that ladder is (yes really) "buy a Solero lolly as a treat without feeling guilty about it".

Yay for milestones! I'm going to really enjoy this.

All frogged, wound, and I'm already thinking up alternative ideas for the yarn even though I already have way too many WIPs.

Thanks for the push, @alexisbushnell 😁

What is that, a cardigan for ants?

No, it's actually a very out-of-my-depth and overly optimistic attempt at the Urban Houndstooth Cardigan by Sarah Wilson (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/urban-houndstooth-cardigan)

Started in probably 2014. The yarn was wrong, my tension was wrong, my skills were nowhere near where they needed to be, and it would never have fit.

It's being frogged in approximately two minutes time, in solidarity with @alexisbushnell and her similarly failed laundry bag.

Ok, back to life and time for the usual post-#24hocs stat update.

This ended up being 3369 stitches over the three days, 42.9% completion. I would've sworn I was at least halfway!

We had some more finishers overnight, and also quite a few who made it to around the 20 hour mark and / or actually finished projects which is always very nice to see.

Our unofficial rule is that this is just a bit of fun so if you can make it fit the acronym it totally counts towards your time. This round we had people doing 24 Hours of:

And a few decided to let themselves have today to try and get the full hours in too, so I'll be off to cheer them on some more now 😁

Fun weekend!
