I "solved" the phantom count on my Mail app Unread smart mailbox by adding a criterion for the account and narrowing it down a little used email account of mine.

When I logged into webmail, I discovered an unread message that Mail app somehow didn't download, but still registers as unread. When I marked it as read in webmail, the unread count disappearing in Mail app.

But now I see that the server messages counts and Mail app message counts differ for a lot of mailboxes! WTF?

However, I was able to remove the phantom unflagged messages from my Flagged folder, thanks to suggestions I found on the web.

Apple doesn't need to grow revenue. Apple already consistently earns a massive amount of revenue and an obscene amount of profit. What more could you want? Unlimited greed is destructive, both ethically and environmentally.

Fuck anyone who says that Apple needs to grow. What's the end game? Apple monopolizes the entire tech industry? Or every industry, establishing a corporate dystopic hell on Earth? Nobody should want that.

Make a good living making good products, and be satisfied with that.
