The makeup community on Xiaohongshu is so chill and lovely. Just people sharing looks and doing really fun tutorials. And one thing that's cool is that the brands of the makeup are rarely mentioned, just what kind of product and how to apply it. I've learned so much in the past week. I've also started getting on teaNote, and Chinese tea looks next level.

I spent 4 years going to school in the deep south, at the most conservative public university in the country. I saw racial slurs carvered into doors, a friend trapped in her car by a group of white men, homophobic slurs yelled at sports games. And I learned how to survive. We knew we only had each other, and that community kept us alive. We held a gay pride march, we celebrated at the Black Student Union, and we organized an anti-racism campaign in our dorms. The joy outnumbers the action, because we can't keep going with out it.

ICE was turned away from a Chicago elementary school. They were not allowed on site and they did not detain anyone. This is why resistance is important, and how we can actively fight.

Edit: The school district has said that ICE did not come to the school, but Secret Service. This was a miscommunication by the district. The article has been updated.
