I just tagged version 0.2.0 of OLS, my experimental local #location server. It's a bit over-configurable and under-documented, but may be of interest to technical users who want to play with location services on Linux. Get it from #Codeberg.

Hey, check out the new gPodder #podcatcher release 3.11.5 featuring a new subscription statistics extension, Podverse search and system dark/light mode support on Linux.
Download the installer, get it from #Flathub on Linux, or wait a while for packages in your distro. Also available as an adaptive version for #mobileLinux.

A new project-like thing: Siltamesh is a bridge server which forwards messages between meshtastic and XMPP channels.
If you have a meshtastic radio connected to a computer, it allows you to send and receive meshtastic messages with your favorite XMPP client over the internet. A specialized client is not needed, except for radio configuration.
Two-way bridging works only for private channels at the moment, but this may change in the future.

I released a new version of my GPS app Satellite (and its sister app Geobug). The release features a renewed UI with the latest gizmos from GTK4 and libadwaita. Get it from flathub or direct from git.
Happy tracking!

Good news everyone! Geoclue 2.7.2 is out.
Now for the bad news: Although alternatives exist, the shutdown of Mozilla Location Services (#MLS) basically crippled #Geoclue for devices without a GPS.
Help is on the way though, code for a GeoIP location source is being developed, and it should make it easy to add different providers. Please see the MR here:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/geoclue/geoclue/-/merge_requests/186
Testing, comments, patches and suggestions for GeoIP providers are welcome!
