Acabo de terminar de ver el primer capitulo de #elfuturoimposible.

Me ha sorprendido mucho.

La recomiendo para todo el mundo.

ya sea que os importe mas o menos el tema, que estéis en oposición a lo que intenta comunicar o lo que sea, sinceramente os lo recomiendo ver, es bastante cortito el episodio, solo 8-9 min.

Para mi ha sido bastante revelador el aspecto social, ya que ya controlaba y entiendo el aspecto técnico y económico del dilema.

@notjustbikes and to be clear I like bikes, maybe not a bike person, but I think of bikes as super advantageous means of transport.

Although, that probably comes from the fact that public transport sucks where I live, driving is stressful and crazy slow on rush hour, so I am left only with bikes as an all rounder.

This isn't about bikes, it's about habitable cities.

Designing cities for cars is without a doubt the opposite of habitable, it has been demonstrated for decades, and yes, bikes are a very important part of making cities habitable, but making habitable cities is not just about bikes, transit.

Here we supposedly also have to get off of our bikes to use pedestrian crosswalks, which is harder when you need a mountain bike because of the heavily uneven bike lanes, so no one does. Also, I have to cross about 11 of those.

I have options but it is either that or riding in quite fast and distracted car traffic or picking a route with about 8 more stop lights that always catch you, some of those are quite dangerous to wait at.

Those routes also add 2-3 more kilometers.

I live in Seville, Spain, my university is about 10 km from where I live.

I have to pass through more than 23 stop lights, where I have to fully stop and wait up to 2 minutes for most of them, I have not counted the ones I never stop at (because they make no sense to stop at, great visibility + very slow cars in a residential area).
