Great blog with some solid points, but this is basically where all the hype around ‘AI’ is al about; we don’t even understand our own connection between language and intelligence, so why are we assuming automation will make sense…

“It's actually an incredible leap to assume, based on nothing else, that a machine which does the same thing is also intelligent. It's much more reasonable to question whether the link we assume exists between language and intelligence actually exists. Certainly, we should wonder if the two are as tightly coupled as we thought.”

WANTED: Sponsors!

Registrations for https://opensecurityconference.org/ have opened, but we still have a few challenges. As mentioned many times before, @OSCo is a conference that aims to be as DEI friendly as possible and that includes 'making it affordable' to everyone.

While we already have found a way to keep the costs as low as possible (while not downgrading on quality), we would still like to make it even more affordable so everyone can come.

So, if you are a company interested or operating in the crossover of quality & security, are a strong promotor of DEI, and want to feel good about offering attendees a great time, please visit our sponsor page or directly reach out to anyone of the organizers!

Very interesting article which basically boils down to deciding between short-term agility (fast to market) vs long-term agility (maintainability)

I’m helping out organizing this and I think (ie hope) it’s going to be a unique event!

It’s got everything I like:

It’s our first year and that’s always hard, but I believe in our concept and hope it will be a success. So if you want to teach or learn; check it out!

Interesting article and I recognize some of the problems identified, but I also see some problems with the alternative (eg requiring every developer to be able to work on the full stack and all (legal) requirements). This looks only feasible with a tightly regulated and constrained internal developer platform or a low risk industry
