I’ve finally got round to cleaning LD’s chainsaw boots, following their use in the New Year. She never mentioned this close encounter to me. Thank goodness for good boots! Always wear your PPE.

I originally hung this mineral block on the inside of Roo’s cage, but she insisted on hanging upside down on the outside and eating it through the bars! So I’ve given in to budgie-pressure, and now it hangs on the outside - so she can do this. 🤷🏻 #budgies

Is anyone else watching Sandi Toksvig’s Woodland Restoration on Ch4? I’m loving it, it’s over 10 yrs since I bought a much tinier patch of woodland. I totally understand the fury at fly-tipping, and lads on motorbikes churning up the wood, the deer dilemma etc etc. But is it all too niche for general viewers? Or are others enjoying it too? #woodland

Today, whilst watching AO tennis on my iPad mini, I accidentally dropped it face down on the kitchen floor tiles. ☹️ I am hopeful that the shattered screen protector is the only damage.
This afternoon I found the spare screen protector, even though I had no idea where I had put it 😊

Earlier this evening I watched a webinar on hazel dormice. If everyone could just look after, and improve, the countryside so well that a couple of dormice could find their way to my wood, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you. 😊

On Sunday I developed the cold that 99% of the UK population has/has just recovered from/is just about to catch.
This morning I took my car for its MOT - it passed (with a tiny amount of help) The owner of the garage told me he was seriously ill for 25 days before Christmas with a cold that turned deadly!
Therefore I’ve decided that I’m now feeling a lot better thank you

My printer finally died just before Christmas, so I ordered a new one, with damaged packaging but otherwise intact,and £50 cheaper, from Amazon. It arrived without any of the 5 ink tanks listed, to buy them would cost me £50. So I boxed it up again ready to return and reclaim my money. Amazon have asked me to print a returns sheet & barcode to put in the box. 🤦🏻 Oh the irony!

How easily pleased am I? A little later each day, the blue tit goes to bed in the new nest box. I’m not sure when it started using it to roost in. It might mean it’s in the wrong place for nesting, we’ll see.
I put the new box up because the great tits evicted the already nesting blue tits from the old box last spring. The new box’s hole is too small for great tits.

I went along to the local Repair Café this morning. I watched a ceramic horse statue being repaired with glue. I helped with an Apple keyboard where the shift lock had stopped working. And I watched a rocking chair having an arm glued back in place.

I decided to change from Android to iPhone. I have used a Mac and an iPad for ever, so it's an easy move. Thought I'd go through Contacts today on my new iPhone updating/deleting people in there. So far I have accidentally FaceTimed one person, and accidentally called another 🤦

This morning I waved my daughter off with her dad, heading for Heathrow and then back to Canada. It is impossible to believe that she's been here 3 and a bit weeks. If you need me, I may be consoling myself with chocolate, or, maybe puppy hugs.

Following 8 weeks of radio silence from British Gas, I submitted my case to the Energy Ombudsman. Today I submitted some additional evidence requested by the person assigned to my case at the office of the Ombudsman. Now we wait and see how/if BG respond. 🤔

Today we had a pair of blue tits investigating possible nesting sites in the garden. We saw them investigate 1 of the nest boxes, and the hole in the wall next to LD's bedroom window. The weather was foul, but they were undeterred. #birds
