I would pay a $5-$10 premium for UPS to show me where the truck with my package is on a map, with a realtime updated delivery window.

Something a lot of developers seem to overlook when building web services is making them accessible via CLI tools for themselves. If you can easily ( or, ergonomically even ) run something in your service environment from a local machine (or triggered remotely from your local machine), it becomes infinitely easier to maintain the system as it grows.

I'm working outside today (for a variety of reasons I won't get into), and my laptop has a glossy display.

Question for the masses with glossy display laptops: HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO EVER WORK OUTSIDE?

I've been fighting with my desk setup for the last month or so. Ever since I tried adjusting to a new monitor setup things just never felt quite right, and it frequently gave me a sort of cognitive block. I tried adjusting lighting, monitor positions, desk height, etc. Nothing seemed to work.

So I'm paring everything back to just working on my laptop for a week, and then I'll slowly re-introduce external monitors and such to see what works.

I can't be the only person like this, am I?
