Kind of surprised that videos.fosdem.org isn't a PeerTube server. Even for the audience it's aimed at, viewing a directory listing of webm files doesn't seem like the best way to find stuff to watch.

Unexpectedly slippery this morning! Fell twice trying to walk to the car. Thankfully I’m a bigger guy with junk in the trunk, otherwise I’m fairly certain I would have cracked a tailbone or something.

It genuinely delights me that my iPhone thinks my regular routine is to get up at 4am to drive to a closed Applebee’s a few towns over.

The drama going on in the 3D printing world is so juicy, and no one is covering it because gestures.

The little boat that everyone prints to test their 3D printer settings ("Benchy") is CC 4.0 no-derivatives licensed , and the creators just got bought out by a money-grabbing company who is starting to extort creators who have made derivative versions.¹

So someone made a model of a bench, (the community named "Boaty") for benchmarking".²

My wife has wanted a corgi since she was a little girl, so I gave her a puppy for Christmas. Which of course means I now have a puppy to help take care of 😁

Realized my AirPods were still in that little jeans pocket about 10 minutes into the wash cycle. Stopped the wash, got them out, and let them dry overnight. Still working fine today. Truly a Christmas miracle.

Absolutely adored this year's Doctor Who Christmas special. Might watch it again for good measure.

Getting up at 4am to go to dialysis is not ideal, but my new tradition of eating a million tacos at like 9:45 is not the worst. There are no rules.

United Healthcare actively tried to kill me, for the record. Multiple times. Their first step was in denying me a drug which could have helped in preventing my kidney failure (which I eventually just paid ~$600 per month out of pocket for, perhaps too late), and then forced me to drop to part-time hours so I would be eligible for the Affordable Care Act (reduced pay + paying for healthcare out of my own pocket) so that it would cover kidney care.

A little late for this notification , but dead on the money and would be super helpful in a more mild case.

I know it’s proprietary and Apple sucks and all that stuff, but wow is the Apple Watch a good investment.

I will never not be mesmerized just watching all my blood endlessly drip down into this little tube before it goes through the rest of the dialyzer.

(Don’t worry, it gets put back into me at the same rate)

Why did I purchase like 100 neon colored zip ties? They're too bright to use on anything. I should have just bought the black ones, it's the only actually useful color.
