The #Pixelfed app is now in the Google Play store. It is installable and the only issue I had was that navigating away from the login page to get my password reset the login process and I had to start over. It is very snappy to use, and it is more responsive than #Pixelix which I currently have installed on a backup phone. There don't seem to be any theme options that I could find, so you'll be stuck with basic white.

Gaming computer, graphics card, and a $20 thin client that I will turn into a kubernetes server box are now on their way to me. They may or may not arrive before X-Mas.

EDIT: my two biggest pain points on #BlueSky are the lack of an edit button, and an app setting to prevent spam accounts from following me. Also once you block someone it is not reflected in your follower count. I have only allowed about twelve people to follow me, but the other sixty spam accounts that I blocked are still being counted.

I'm not the typical corporate employee. When I had a stateside corporate email address I only used it to respond to emails, and I explained before I was hired that I would not be attending any meetings of any kind, so all updated information came to me through emails. No interpersonal email strings, and no small talk. I didn't attend company events, and I ate alone.

I was not the type of person that you approach with a company social media account. Using social media is much harder for me that it outwardly appears, because it's mostly therapeutic so I treat it as if I'm talking out loud to myself in an empty room. When I first started using Twitter I would get annoyed when people responded to my tweets so I usually ended up blocking them, it took years for me to learn how to respond like a regular person and engage, but even that takes a lot of effort, it fucking drains me like an in person conversation.

If it's a class struggle then everyone struggling matters. So keep your bullshit comments about the McDonalds employee to yourselves. That $60,000 is life changing money to most Americans, especially those earning minimum wage, which is something most of the tech industry professionals on Mastodon would not understand.

So just keep fantasizing about being part of the class struggle alongside people who are actually struggling, and send them your thoughts and prayers, or you know just toot affirmations at them but don't pretend to be about the struggle and then shit all over some faceless McDonalds worker. #luigimangione

Elevation (2024) it's a low budget mashup of A Quiet Place and Independence Day starring Captain Falcon and Morena Baccarin. Surprisingly it does not suck, I even enjoyed that mild twist. And the film ends with an appropriately setup sequel bait scene.
