1. political violence is encouraged and the rule of law means nothing -- violent offenders have been pardoned

2. citizenship for people whose parents' citizenship could be questioned is under threat

3. magnification of climate chaos

4. horror show at our southern border

[#]uspol I agree with Cenk here, everything he is saying it's right in line with everything I know about social psychology. I think it's interesting though that he calls Gov. Newsom a corporate robot because although he's not perfect, from my view he's the type of leader we need. Is he "a deeply corrupt, establishment figure" ? Doesn't match up with what I know (although I've hated every pro-drilling thing he's ever allowed). Maybe I'm just biased.

the thing is, "red" states like Louisiana have categorically denied their own people of the aid passed by Democrats for decades as a political ploy. So ppl in those states tend to need help more so than in places where the federal monies for TANF, job programs, and other social safety net features have not been arbitrarily withheld for ages, for no reason. They didn't benefit from the ARRA in '09-'11 for example. Pls send help if you can.

all the reporting on the supposed ceasefire is so transparently propaganda. There's no mention of the constant back and forth, cat and mouse game that Netanyahu has been playing. They have found reasons to not accept the deal for months! We should be hearing about how unlikely this is to actually mean the IOF stops firing on Gaza. After all they didn't stop bombing Lebanon after that "ceasefire," did they.

At least 77 Palestinians dead in Gaza overnight.

The article👇🏼is a autobiographical look at the #lafires but w/o much research on the inmate crews unfortunately; it's not true that inmates who join the fire camp are coerced. It is an entirely volunteer position and one has to qualify for it, good behavior and all that. They are trained to clear brush and other kindling 🪓🪚. I'm an abolitionist so I don't love any of this but there's literally zero reason to post these men up as enslaved.

Yikes. Start at 8:30 of this vid from @hasanthehun@birdsite.tcjc.uk to see what I'm talking abt (stitch of Channel 4 NBC News). Watching the firefighter explain how this simple backyard conflagration turned into a complete catastrophe, I was struck w/ the thought that if Mother Nature wanted to emulate Luigi, that's how she'd do it. Sweep out one of the wealthiest neighborhoods of one of the wealthiest cities in the wealthiest nation. Wow. This is what dumbstruck feels like.
