Okay back to using Husky for most things.

Moshidon is atrociously laggy. I'll keep it around if I need to report something, need a language tag, or want to use emoji reacts, but it's otherwise not usable.

I think it might be trying to use swap memory for everything instead of caching? And that's not gonna fly on a ten year old phone.

I pull out my chair.

It has a cat on it. She blinks at me sleepily.

I push my chair back.

No chair for me today.

Am watching One Piece to help distract from fireworks but if anyone wants to talk or share stuff to also help distract that would be awesome :acat_chirp:

It is 7pm. We have had non stop fireworks since 10am, and two evenings of about half an hour of it each evening already.

We are likely to keep having non stop fireworks until sunrise, and intermittent all week.

This is rubbish.

Even the prettiest fireworks hurt after more than an hour of them, and this is days.

My cats are out of it, they've been trying to nap and unable to since this morning. And though they kinda like the pretty lights, there's some illegal fireworks with huge explosions that they are absolutely afraid of and jittery about.

TL;DR: Don't go to the Netherlands for new years. It's not even nice fireworks shows done by professionals.

Gonna drop this here for people wanting to know how the heck drop rates work in Xenoblade 2. (Link in reply because any link previews may show spoilers for the blades)

General gist is that there are actually 5 different luck groups that have different draw chances! Which one you are in depends on your save file. And which ones you have an easier time with, and which ones are your "pity" blades, change depending on which group you are in.

Also, important, all blades are not "pity" blades. At some point you will have drawn all of the pity blades and will have to keep going until you get lucky, the game will not give you a guaranteed drop for any blade but the pities.

Can people stop referring to things with less than 4 characters + mix of numbers and capital letters?

I just had to read through the worst thought out recipe of my life where whoever wrote it decided it was the best idea ever to refer to all the ingredients as "B1" or "A2" and if I were to actually need to follow that damn thing I'd have to rewrite it all first.

I hate it, it's awful to read and I can't understand anything or trust what I'm seeing is what's actually written.

Merry Christmas :acat_cuddle:

For me this is a day where I am cozy with kitties and cheetah, play music we like, have good food, and enjoy each others company. Maybe if I'm feeling nostalgic I'll see about going to a carol midnight mass the night before.

I like taking time to do nice things, eat nice things, and remembering to enjoy the good beings around me :happycat:

I need a lil dragon that sits on my shoulder and tells me I'm doing good

it'd also break all the things into tiny steps when I'm overwhelmed

I would feed it cheese

I need to be my own dragon right now and I am very unhappy about this state of affairs! :yell:

My problem right now is I'm struggling with the balance of:

So I need something that isn't a hype train, is easy to find resources for (or otherwise makes mostly use of JS, CSS, and HTML), and is stable long term. Backend functionality is irrelevant, accessible via REST API.

I have prior experience with Blazor (still on the table), Angular (completely off the table, too unstable and hard to find accurate resources for), and Vue (still on the table). Would love to hear from people who've had to deal with similar priorities and constraints.

It's too big to find The Answer just from asking, but I could use all the puzzle pieces I can get.

Sigh, this is actually hellish to research. May have to go to the drawing board, list up important requirements, and then... hope that whatever we choose isn't abandoned in five years? Think a hard line of portable FE code is necessary.

Okay, did find some good resources on how to determine what's necessary. Will add those later.

Hmm, found Ember.js. Actually doesn't seem like a bad choice, has LTS releases and readable/accessible docs. And seems like it'd be easy to onboard anyone with JavaScript experience.

Edit: please do boost this!

I am doing research on this myself, but I wanted to know if other people had good resources handy.

What resources are currently available for websites that need to build something stable, maintainable, secure, and accessible? Think in education or government, an audience that partially needs to comply with accessibility requirements and that values stability.

And what frameworks are there that currently have good docs for building something like that? (Preferring progressive enhancement route and not something that needs to be updated every month to prevent JavaScript library insecurities. Docs are important, working under assumption that the only one with website experience is ... me.)

(Also lemme know if anyone knows of a good hashtag to add to get the right people to see this.)

It's a day.
