Oh noes.

Testing The Indie Archive my cloud bill doubled last month.

When I only had my anonradio, MixRemix show, it was 6 -8 cents a month.

Now with the archival cloud storage it was 15 cents.

That said there's on 1.5 GB of data being stored. Still 8 cents a month for 1.5 GB of static archival storage. Affordable.

Still it's too much for multiple Terrabytes. I'm recommending two remote systems instead of cloud storage.

Monthly bills suck.

I added a windows directory with windows files and permissions to The Indie Archive. It worked ok but everything was owned by indiearchive and there is definitely not an indiearchive user on the windows system.

So yes you can archive windows projects on The Indie Archive running Linux. But you will not preserve the metadata.

The folder has all my cd-labelprint art for my CDs so, yes, pretty important. In this case I don't care who owns the files. In other cases, could be important.

Indie Archive Update

Latest problem solved! I want to ssh in to the remote system but it may not have a static IP or port forwarding.

The answer is a remote tunnel reverse shell using ssh.

The secondary system is an ssh server so ...

from remote

ssh -R localhost:7070:localhost:22 ip_of_secondary

Attaches to Secondary on port 22 opening a reverse connection to localhost on remote on port 7070

from secondary

ssh -p 7070 localhost

This command shells into remote over port 7070
